We went to Anza Borrego state park to see the desert wildflowers and the badlands, but also to make memories as a family. I love this series of photos so much because they capture the love between Alex and his grandma. We took turns watching Brian who had fallen asleep on the Jeep, and when it was grandma’s turn to enjoy the view, Alex was so excited to share it with her. ✨❤️ #anzaborrego #nowildflowerswereharmed #thisislove #familygoals #lupines #superbloom2019 #thesincerestoryteller

While we were visiting Anza-Borrego state park, we joined a California Overland jeep tour. Our guide brought us to see wildflowers and badlands that we wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise (#minivanmom 🙋🏻‍♀️). He pointed out so many different varieties of wildflowers to us. It was such a neat and educational experience. We usually just research and drive/ hike ourselves but this tour definitely enhanced our trip to #anzaborregostatepark ! #castateparks #familytravel #adventuretogether #superbloom2019

Salty sea, spritz, and sunset🍹🌊🌅🙌 As a physician couple + Jason’s call nights/ weekends, we don’t have a lot of free time. As you can see from our feed, we love spending time with our kids and adventuring outdoors. Something has to give, so our date nights are few and far between. Due to our chosen professions, over the years, we’ve worked through many events including birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. We create our own celebrations whenever we can. I found a great midweek wine dinner and stay special at a local boutique hotel, and Jason was up for a date staycation. My parents graciously offered to watch our boys overnight and drop them off at school the next morning. After working and preparing dinner for my parents and kids, I met Jason who came directly from work at the @hoteljoaquin. We toasted over a delicious welcome spritz and appreciated the beautiful sunset. We enjoyed uninterrupted conversation and listened to records from the hotels impressive collection. This morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast and coffee before both departing back to work. Our getaway was just over 12 hours and 20 minutes away from our home and jobs, but felt like 2000 miles away. ✨ #dateyourspouse #staycation #celebrateeveryday

Alex : Mom, can I have your phone? The sunset is so beautiful, and I want to take a photo. Both boys have been expressing interest in photography lately - guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I am happy they have an appreciation for natural beauty. Scroll to see how much fun these boys had in this series of pics. When I got my phone back, there were about 100 photos of the sunset, the moon and some pretty silly selfies. 😳🤣. Hey beach. 👋 It’s been a minute. We’ve missed you (due to a record setting cold SoCal winter), and are so happy to be back ☀️😎 We spent St. Patrick’s day at our favorite beach with some old and new friends, grilled burgers and hotdogs, watched the sunset, and made s’mores. The boys wore their green @seaestasurf swim trunks to be festive ☘️. The water was quite cold (it’s the Pacific), but it didn’t stop them from getting soaked and having a blast! Alex asks to bring his violin 🎻to play 🎶 in beautiful locations. It started a year ago in Hawaii, and since then he’s played at farm, in a yurt, in Death Valley national park, and at Anza-Borrego state park. I haven’t shared all of them on IG, but it’s kind of fun, so I think I’ll start a hashtag #alexviolinoutdoors .
